At the start of the year, iris GmbH was awarded a contract to equip Solaris buses in Dubai, the city in where the Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building, is currently being built. Thus from the end of the first quarter until the end of this year, 75 vehicles will be factory-equipped with IRMA ADVANCED and handed over to the Emirate of Dubai. The close cooperation with the Polish vehicle manufacturer enables straightforward implementation of the project directly in the factory and thus ensures a smooth approval process even prior to the final delivery. The Dubai Roads & Transport Authority is also taking advantage of this technological and organizational advantage for additional vehicles from other manufacturers. Above and beyond the initial 75 Solaris buses, 240 MAN buses are being equipped with the counting systems for Dubai. This means that upon successful completion of these projects, over 300 buses will be equipped with IRMA in this emirate within the United Arab Emirates, in order to achieve continuous improvement in public transport service for over a million inhabitants.
